The Sourdough Lodge in Wrangell, Alaska

The Sourdough Lodge

About Us

Originally The Old Alaskan Sourdough Lodge, the Lodge got its start as housing for loggers and other heavy construction crews in the 1980's. After the projects completed, the former owners ran it as a full service lodge until 2019.

After a few years of different ownership and different names, Zach Taylor and his father John Taylor purchased the property in spring 2023, and rebranded it back to its roots: The Sourdough Lodge!

The Taylors both run different charter companies, the local school bus company, a snow plow business, and were both former general contractors and automatic fire sprinkler installers.

Our manager and all-around right hand gal, Jillie, can be found at the Lodge most days, but Zach or John are both around quite often. Zach's wife Leanna, and mother Vickie, were the brains behind the cozy design of the rooms, kitchen, and decor.

The Sourdough is a family-run business, and we hope you enjoy your stay with us!
